Nestled in the middle of what is known as Old West Austin, Clarksville, a National Register Historic District, dates back to the 1870s. This community is an eclectic mix of singles, young families and professionals, students, and much of the city’s creative crowd. Nau’s Enfield Drugs, Anthony’s Laundry & Cleaners, Sledd’s Nursery, and Jeffrey’s restaurant are among the longtime neighborhood staples. The scene at the newer establishment, Café Medici, buzzes with coffee-drinking laptop users. Clarksville is hip, fun, and definitely in the middle of it all.
