This award recognizes hospital systems that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency, based on balanced system-wide clinical performance. In 2010, the Heart Hospital of Austin, a campus of St. David’s Medical Center, was rated the No. 1 hospital in the state of Texas for overall cardiology services by HealthGrades, the nation’s leading independent provider of hospital ratings. For six years in a row (2004-2009) HealthGrades gave it the No. 1 ranking for Overall Cardiac Services. Named a five-time winner of the Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals for Cardiovascular Care in 2010, Heart Hospital of Austin was one of only 10 hospitals in America to receive this distinction.
