Zilker Garden Festival

Spring has sprung, and to celebrate we recommend attending the Austin Botanical Garden’s annual Zilker Garden Festival, which includes a flower show, gardening talks, arts and crafts, local food vendors, and live music! Located at 2220 Barton Spring Road
University of Texas Star Party
Every Wednesday Evening, April 6, 13, 20, 27 | 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
The UT Astronomy Departments hosts a stargazing party every Wednesday on top of Robert Lee Moore Hall (RLM) on campus, at the corner of Dean Keaton and Speedway. This event is FREE and open to the public. Take the elevator up the 17th floor and follow the signs, leading up the stairs to the roof. Please call 512-232-4265 for weather cancellation information. First Thursday on South Congress

This is basically a giant block party, occurring on the first Thursday of every month. First Thurday spans roughly from Riverside Drive to Mary Street, complete with specials of all kinds, as well as sales, local musicians, vendors, artists, craftsman, and much more — go check it out!

Hosted by the Austin Swing Syndicate at the Texas Federation of Women’s Club, otherwise known simply as “The Fed,” this event is open to all skill levels and includes an intro swing class beginning at 8:15. There are two rooms for dancing and dj’ed music throughout. Admission is $3 for members and $6 for non-members. Located at 2312 San Gabriel Street
Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival
Every year the Paramount Theatre produces this world-class comedy event, which includes a variety of performances such as sketch comedy, stand-up, improv, musical comedy, and much more, combining international and local talent for a must-see comedy show down. Movies in the Park: Wall-E

Brought to you by the Austin Parks Foundation and Alamo Drafthouse, this event is a great opportunity to grab your lawn chairs and picnic in the park while enjoying a quality film. Free and open to the public, this month’s movie is hosted at Wooldright Square Park at 900 Guadalupe Street
Austin Food and Wine Festival
Come one, come all and enjoy this annual celebration of artisanal food, wine, spirits, and live music! Hosted in Auditorium Shores and Republic Park, this event is a must for both the fresh and seasoned foodies. Tickets are not cheap, so be sure to check out their website for pricing. Hydro Jam is the perfect opportunity to experience hydroflights with jetpacks, bikes, hydro boards, and more. Although this seems extreme, this event is open to public with tickets priced at $40.
