Just east of Allandale, Crestview also offers in-town convenience without downtown prices. In 2010, about 55 percent of Crestview residents were between the ages of 25 and 54, reflecting the influx of new families. This neighborhood’s personality emanates from Crestview Center, the community hub, which started in 1948. The Minimax-IGA grocery store, drugstore, barber and beauty shops, and other essentials are still mostly intact. Among other celebrations, this community pulls together each year for the Violet Crown Festival.
